| dc.description.abstract | El siguiente documento presenta un marco de trabajo basado en buenas prácticas y experiencia propia para el diseño e implementación de una red que posibilite el acceso a Internet en tres veredas rurales (Los Teres, Paso Chico y La Laguna) perteneciente al municipio de Los Santos, Santander (Colombia), en el marco de la iniciativa SembrandoBits. Este proyecto busca abordar el contexto agrícola de pequeña escala, considerando variables relacionadas a la brecha digital en poblaciones rurales. La región presenta características geográficas, socioeconómicas y culturales que condicionan la adopción de tecnologías digitales. Aunque el acceso a internet se postula como un catalizador de desarrollo, su implementación no es neutral: factores como la infraestructura existente, la disponibilidad de acceso a servicios públicos como la energía eléctrica, el analfabetismo digital presente en la región y las dinámicas de género influyen en su efectividad. Por lo anterior, se hace necesario encontrar una solución adaptable a las condiciones locales en forma de prácticas contextualizables. Este proyecto forma parte de la iniciativa SembrandoBits, la cual busca impulsar la transformación digital de las mujeres rurales dedicadas a la agricultura en esta región. Analizando, evaluando y explorando el contexto local, teniendo como tecnologías viables el internet satelital, proponiendo trabajar en un prototipo que ofrezca una opción a largo plazo de conexión de red, destacando la importancia de la alfabetización digital para su adopción exitosa en las zonas mencionadas. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The following document presents a framework based on best practices and experience for the design and implementation of a network that enables internet access in three rural villages (Los Teres, Paso Chico, and La Laguna) in the municipality of Los Santos, Santander, Colombia, within the SembrandoBits initiative. This project seeks to address the context of small-scale agriculture, considering variables related to the digital divide in rural populations. The region presents geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural characteristics that influence the adoption of digital technologies. Although internet access is often seen as a catalyst for development, its implementation is not neutral: factors such as existing infrastructure, access to public services such as electricity, the region's digital illiteracy, and gender dynamics influence its effectiveness. Therefore, it is necessary to find a solution adaptable to local conditions in the form of contextualizable practices. This project is part of the SembrandoBits initiative, which aims to promote the digital transformation of rural women engaged in agriculture in this region. Analyzing, evaluating, and exploring the local context and using satellite internet as a viable technology, we propose developing a prototype that offers a long-term network connection option, highlighting the importance of digital literacy for its successful adoption in the areas mentioned above. | spa |
