This research seeks to contribute to the study of the Knowledge Organization of Depression. The most Traditional Cognitive currents are addressed, the Depression Models developed in this context and the Transition Models, which account for the importance of emotional and bodily aspects in the processes of knowledge and action. Subsequently, the most recent Cognitive conceptualizations are presented, delving into the models that attribute to the human being an active role in the construction of knowledge and organization of the meaning of their experiences. Starting from the principle that the Narrative is a good metaphor for the Organization of knowledge, the intention is to identify and validate the Prototype Narrative of Depression in outpatients between 18 and 45 years of age from Institutions that offer multidisciplinary services in the context of Health. Mental Health in the city of Bucaramanga (Clínica San Pablo and Empresa Social del Estado San Camilo), as well as in institutions that carry out psychological support and care for their users (Men's Prison Judicial District and Voluntary Association for Cancer Relief), of equal strata or higher than 2 and with a minimum of sixth grade schooling, through a correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional study, using the Hamilton Psychometric Depression Test and the SCID, which together with the narrative prototype of depression will demonstrate the differences between depressed and non-depressed individuals by attributing a relationship between narrative and s your own life.spa
