dc.description.abstractEn el año 1948 la OMS (Organización mundial de la salud) define la Salud, como “el estado de completo bienestar físico, mental, espiritual, emocional y social, y no solamente la ausencia de afecciones o enfermedades”, definición que fue reafirmada en el año 1978 en la Conferencia Internacional sobre Atención Primaria en Salud de Alma-Ata (Rusia), sin haber sido modificada hasta el presente. La salud es un derecho humano fundamental y la búsqueda del máximo nivel posible de salud, es la meta social más importante, cuya realización requiere de la participación de otros sectores sociales y económicos que sumen a las acciones de política del sector salud. La OMS también nos dice que los niños representan el futuro por ello su crecimiento y desarrollo saludable deben ser una de las máximas prioridades para todas las sociedades. Los niños y los recién nacidos en particular son especialmente vulnerables frente a la malnutrición y enfermedades infecciosas, que son prevenibles o tratables en su mayoría. La salud y el bienestar deben estar condicionados por diferentes determinantes tales como factores políticos, sociales, económicos, ambientales, culturales y de género que de una u otra forma inciden en la salud desde el proceso de la gestación y durante los primeros años de vida pero que pueden ser modificados mediante intervenciones y acciones efectivas.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishIn 1948 the WHO (World Health Organization) defined Health as “the state of complete physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and social well-being, and not only the absence of diseases or illnesses”, a definition that was reaffirmed in in 1978 at the International Conference on Primary Health Care in Alma-Ata (Russia), without having been modified until now. Health is a fundamental human right and the search for the highest possible level of health is the most important social goal, the realization of which requires the participation of other social and economic sectors that add to the policy actions of the health sector. The WHO also tells us that children represent the future, so their healthy growth and development should be one of the highest priorities for all societies. Children and newborns in particular are especially vulnerable to malnutrition and infectious diseases, most of which are preventable or treatable. Health and well-being must be conditioned by different determinants such as political, social, economic, environmental, cultural and gender factors that in one way or another affect health from the gestation process and during the first years of life but that can be modified through effective interventions and actions.eng
