dc.description.abstractGrande entre los grandes, de denodado estratega militar, y victorioso en una de las batallas más famosas de la Guerra de los Mil Días, la de Peralonso (diciembre 12 de 1899), -en donde 3600 liberales bajo su mando, derrotaron de manera inesperada a los 6000 hombres comandados por el general conservador Vicente Villamizar-, dícese que se inmortaliza el general Rafael Uribe (1859- 1914), al tomar en una arriesgada acción el puente de La Laja sobre el río que se lleva aquel nombre, Peralonso, y con la cual, “parece como sí le hubiese cortado la yugular al ejercito” del bando contrincante, según los historiadores.spa
