Shoulder pain is a frequent reason for consultation in trauma services, only surpassed by neck pain and low back pain, it is a symptom that can appear in a wide variety of processes, most of which are due to disorders of the peri-articular soft tissues, contributing substantially to the musculoskeletal morbidity of the community.(13) It is a frequent problem with an incidence that ranges between 0.9 and 2.5% of the population. general population, varying fundamentally according to age groups. (13) The rotator cuff is an anatomical structure of the shoulder, which is formed by the union of four tendons: the supraspinatus, the infraspinatus, and the subscapularis and teres minor, which give rise to a conjoined tendon that inserts into the proximal end of the humerus, injury to either of these tendons results in rotator cuff syndrome. This syndrome is a disorder characterized by compression of the supraspinatus bursa, the supraspinatus tendon, the biceps tendon between the greater tuberosity and the coraco-acromial arch;(11) it represents a large part of the medical disabilities and days lost work, leading to high costs for the health system and a decrease in people's useful life for physical activities. (2) It is estimated that in consultations for pain it occupies the second place in frequency, after back, lumbar and/or cervical pain, it is the third cause of disability of musculoskeletal origin.spa
