dc.description.abstractEl 3 de mayo del año 2000 asistió a una oficina de la entonces naciente Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB), quien fuera el primer participante de un proyecto llamado "Cardiovascular Health Investigation and Collaboration to Assess the Markers and Outcomes of Chagas disease " (CHICAMOCHA). Su estudio piloto, planeado para un año, fue financiado por el departamento de ayudas a la comunidad de ECOPETROL (a través de un convenio con el ISABU, firmado por el entonces director, el actual decano de la facultad, Dr. Juan José Rey). El apoyo dado por el director de investigaciones de la UNAB, Dr. Germán Oliveros, y el decano en la época, Dr. Juan Carlos Mantilla encontró un rector dispuesto, el Dr. Gabriel Burgos Mantilla, que equiparó el apoyo económico con el del patrocinador externo. Con ese soporte, bajo la coordinación del Dr. Luis ángel Villar, el equipo de trabajo inicial (VÍctor Mauricio Herrera, médico, Martha Vásquez, enfermera y Claudia RÍos, secretaria) inició este proyecto.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishOn May 3, 2000, he attended an office of the then nascent Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB), who was the first participant in a project called "Cardiovascular Health Investigation and Collaboration to Assess the Markers and Outcomes of Chagas disease "(CHICAMOCHA). Its pilot study, planned for one year, was financed by the ECOPETROL community aid department (through an agreement with ISABU, signed by the then director, the current dean of the faculty, Dr. Juan José Rey) . The support given by the UNAB research director, Dr. Germán Oliveros, and the dean at the time, Dr. Juan Carlos Mantilla found a willing rector, Dr. Gabriel Burgos Mantilla, who equated the financial support with that of the sponsor external. With this support, under the coordination of Dr. Luis Ángel Villar, the initial work team (VÍctor Mauricio Herrera, doctor, Martha Vásquez, nurse, and Claudia RÍos, secretary) started this project.eng
