dc.description.abstractLas calcificaciones pulmonares se dividen en metastásicas, distróficas e idiopáticas. Representan un aspecto importante en la diferenciación de las imágenes nodulares torácicas; con frecuencia se identifican imágenes poco específicas en la radiología simple. Por esta razón es necesario realizar una escanografía de tórax en donde se identifican claramente las calcificaciones nodulares metastásicas, siendo el examen de elección para su diagnóstico; sin embargo, no hay que desconocer que en algunos casos especiales se requiere la ayuda de un estudio de medicina nuclear con tecnecio 99. El caso presentado evidencia cómo un paciente asintomático que no requiere ningún manejo médico puede llegar a representar un desafío diagnóstico que nos lleva a una mejor compresión de las calcificaciones pulmonares en cuanto a su origen, fisiopatología, diagnóstico, pronóstico y manejo, estableciéndose así una visión global de los procesos que producen calcificaciones pulmonares. dc.description.abstractenglishPulmonary calcifications are divided in metastasic, dystrophic and idiopathic; they represent an important aspect in the differentiation of the nodular imaging, frequently we identify images with little specify in simple chest radiology, requiring the accomplishment of the TAC of thorax for the correct interpretation. Settling down east examination like the gold standar, in some special cases the aid of the nuclear medicine is needed with technetium 99 scintigraphy. Case presentation evidence an asintomatic patient does not require any medical treatment an can get to represent a diagnostic challenger .It takes a best compression of the pulmonary calcifications about the origin, physiophatology, diagnoses, prognosis and treatment, forming a global vision of the processes that produce pulmonary calcifications.
