| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo de investigación pretende caracterizar y medir la brecha de género en el área de matemáticas en estudiantes de educación media en Colombia. Usando los datos suministrados por el ICFES para el año 2018 de las pruebas saber 11, para esto, se crean variables dicotómicas y se realiza la estimación por medio de una regresión lineal múltiple utilizando el método de MCO. Finalmente, se encuentra que existe una brecha de género significativa en los resultados de las pruebas de matemáticas aplicadas por el estado colombiano en el año 2018. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This research work seeks to characterize and measure the gender gap in the area of mathematics between middle school students in Colombia. Using the data provided by the ICFES for the year 2018 of SABER 11 tests, dichotomous variables are created and the estimate is made by means of a multiple linear regression using the ordinary least-squares method. Finally, it is found that there is a significant gender gap in the test results of the mathematics tests applied by the Colombian state in the year 2018. | spa |
