| dc.description.abstract | El cáncer de tiroides es actualmente la neoplasia maligna más común del sistema endocrino, ubicándose dentro de los 10 cáncer más frecuentes a nivel mundial. En Colombia según los datos recopilados por la Agencia Internacional de Investigación del Cáncer de la Organización Mundial de la Salud en GLOBOCAN 2022 hay 4885 personas con este diagnóstico, y como es conocido, el cáncer diferenciado de tiroides posterior al manejo quirúrgico es complementado en la mayoría de casos con la terapia con I131, la cual según el reporte histopatológico, laboratorios posquirúrgicos y el análisis realizado por el médico nuclear se clasifica en terapia ablativa o adyuvante; se pueden presentar efectos secundarios el mas frecuente es la sialoadenitis que puede ser aguda vs crónica, su incidencia se encuentra entre un 2% y un 67%. Este estudio analizó factores asociados con su incidencia y exploró intervenciones como el uso solo sialogogos y el uso de masajes más sialogogos para mitigar su impacto. Los resultados muestran que la edad promedio de diagnostico fue los 47 años, la mayoría de los participantes fueron mujeres, representando el 78,95% de la muestra. Nuestros hallazgos muestran que la incidencia de sialoadenitis no se asocia significativamente con variables como la edad, el sexo o el estadio del cáncer; Se identifico que la incidencia de sialoadenitis aguda post-yodoterapia, correspondía al 17,11% de los participantes. Dentro de las estrategias implementadas para disminuir el riesgo de desarrollo de sialoadenitis posterior a la yodoterapia, contamos con el uso de sialogogos o el uso combinado de sialogogos más masaje a nivel de las glándulas salivales, ambas técnicas tienen evidencia en la literatura sobre su eficacia, sin embargo, nuestros resultados muestran que la intervención combinada de sialogogos más masajes no presentan una asociación estadísticamente significativa con la reducción de sialoadenitis; y por el contrario se evidencia que en el grupo de sialogogos más masaje hay mayor incidencia de sialoadenitis al compararlo solo con el grupo de sialogogos (17 vs 9 pacientes respectivamente desarrollaron sialoadenitis). Teniendo en cuenta el análisis de la muestra de nuestro estudio y los hallazgos de la literatura se concluye que en el manejo estándar como prevención de sialoadenitis debe estar basado en el uso de sialogogos. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | Thyroid cancer is currently the most common malignant neoplasm of the endocrine system, ranking among the 10 most common cancers worldwide. In Colombia, according to data collected by the International Agency for Cancer Research of the World Health Organization in GLOBOCAN 2022, there are 4,885 people with this diagnosis, and as is known, differentiated thyroid cancer after surgical management is complemented in the majority. of cases with therapy with I131, which according to the histopathological report, post-surgical laboratories and the analysis performed by the nuclear medicine doctor is classified as ablative or adjuvant therapy; Side effects may occur, the most common being sialadenitis, which can be acute or chronic, its incidence is between 2% and 67%. This study analyzed factors associated with its incidence and explored interventions such as the use of sialogogues alone and the use of massage plus sialogogues to mitigate its impact. The results show that the average age of diagnosis was 47 years, the majority of the participants were women, representing 78.95% of the sample. Our findings show that the incidence of sialadenitis is not significantly associated with variables such as age, sex or cancer stage; It was identified that the incidence of acute sialadenitis post-iodotherapy corresponded to 17.11% of the participants.
