The evaluation of the relationship between the presence of refractive defects and ocular biometry (axial length, depth of the anterior chamber, keratometry) allows us to identify the most frequent etiology of said pathology, which represents an important problem in public health. In MIOPUR, which is an analytical cross-sectional study carried out during the years of June 2015 and May 2017, where a comprehensive examination of the participants in urban and rural areas of 11 departments of Colombia with different age ranges 8 - 17 years and 35 – 55 years with the main objective of determining the environmental influences and the presence of refractive errors, data related to their physical activity, anthropometric measurements, blood laboratory tests, lipid profile and fasting blood glucose were collected, ophthalmological and optometric examination was performed which included ocular biometry. In this project, a secondary analysis of the MIOPUR database will be carried out, where participants in the age range between 8 - 17 years will be evaluated, taking into account their ophthalmological examination, ocular biometry and refraction with the main objective of finding associations between structural changes and the presence of ametropia. Finally, this project seeks to have a broad knowledge of our population, and share it with scientific societies through publication in a high-impact journal.spa
