dc.description.abstractIntroducción: Las úlceras corneales son lesiones causadas por la pérdida superficial del tejido, puede ser estériles o infecciosa. Las úlceras son responsables de 1.5 a 2 millones de casos de ceguera por año. Por esto, se deben tratar rápidamente para evitar procedimientos como los colgajos conjuntivales o trasplantes corneales o la pérdida de la estructura anatómica ocular. Objetivo: Evaluar los resultados postoperatorios de los colgajos conjuntivales en ulceras corneales. Material y métodos: Estudio descriptivo de tipo observacional longitudinal retrospectivo. Se incluirán pacientes con ulceras corneales de difícil manejo, que requirieron colgajos conjuntivales en la Fundación Oftalmológica de Santander – FOSCAL y Centro Oftalmológico Virgilio Galvis entre julio del 2013 a junio del 2018. Resultados esperados: Identificar las características sociodemográficas de los pacientes que son sometidos a colgajos conjuntivales. dc.description.abstractenglishIntroduction: Corneal ulcers are lesions caused by superficial loss of tissue, can be sterile or infectious. Ulcers are responsible for 1.5 to 2 million cases of blindness per year. Therefore, they should be treated quickly to avoid procedures such as flap conjuntival or Keratoplasty or the ocular anatomical structure's loss. Objective: Evaluate the postoperative results of flap conjuntival in corneal ulcers. Material and methods: Descriptive study of retrospective longitudinal observational type. Patients with difficult-to-treat corneal ulcers who required flaps conjunctival at Fundación Oftalmológica de Santander – FOSCAL and Centro will be included. Expected results: Identify the sociodemographic characteristics of patients who undergo flaps conjunctival. Additionally, report what are the possible complications and postoperative results.
