This qualitative study, conducted using a multiple case design with a phenomenological approach, aimed to understand the experience of self-stimulatory behaviors (stimming) in individuals diagnosed with Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (TS). Through in-depth interviews with three participants with confirmed diagnoses, the research explored behavioral, functional, contextual, and emotional aspects of these behaviors, distinguishing them from the tics typically associated with TS. Findings indicate that stimming serves important sensory and emotional self regulatory functions, and its expression is influenced by contextual factors and comorbid conditions such as anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Additionally, various coping strategies were identified, along with a significant impact on the emotional and social dimensions of participants' lives. The study highlights the importance of de-pathologizing these behaviors and adopting a functional and empathetic perspective on the lived experience of individuals with TS.spa
