Treatment of cholelithiasis associated with stones in the common bile duct (cholecystocholedocholithiasis) is essential to prevent serious complications in which this condition can end, such as cholangitis. Conventional treatment, which consists of performing an ERCP and later a laparoscopic cholecystectomy at two different times, has proven to be effective for the management of this pathology; however, the high rate of associated complications has encouraged the development of new techniques that can be equally effective and with less morbidity.spa
