dc.description.abstractLa disfunción eréctil (DE) es una entidad de alta prevalencia asociadas a factores de tipo psicológico y predominantemente Orgánico que puede afectar a hombres de cualquier edad. El aumento del conocimiento de los precesos fisiológicos de la erección masculina y el desarrollo de los nuevos agentes que mejoran la función eréctil ha generado gran interés entre los médicos, los hombres y sus parejas debido a que estos adelantos están extendiendo las opciones disponibles en el manejo de esta entidad. En este artÍculo se revisan los aspectos etiológicos y fisiopatológicos, asÍ como el enfoque clÍnico y el manejo actual de la DE.[Ardila JE. Disfunción eréctil. dc.description.abstractenglishErectile dysfunction (ED) is a highly prevalent entity associated with psychological and predominantly organic factors that can affect men of any age. Increased knowledge of the physiological processes of male erection and the development of new agents that improve erectile function has generated great interest among physicians, men, and their partners because these advances are expanding the options available in the management of this entity. This article reviews the etiological and pathophysiological aspects, as well as the clinical approach and current management of ED.[Ardila JE. Erectile dysfunction.
