dc.description.abstractCon los resultados electorales de diciembre de 2006, el gobierno del reelegido presidente Chávez orientó sus acciones y decisiones hacia la consolidación de su proyecto político con implicaciones nacionales e internacionales. En tal sentido, el proyecto de reforma constitucional, sometido a referendo en diciembre de 2007, se proponía alcanzar apoyo suficiente para adelantar la construcción del denominado “socialismo del siglo XXI”. En un primer análisis consiste en la búsqueda de un poder total para el presidente. Así, el autoritarismo electoral implantado en Venezuela a partir del referendo revocatorio presidencial de 2004, sufre su primer revés, representando una barrera casi infranqueable para la realización del proyecto totalitario presidencial.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishWith the electoral results of December 2006, the government of the reelected President Chávez oriented its actions and decisions towards the consolidation of its political project with national and international implications. In this sense, the constitutional reform project, submitted to a referendum in December 2007, was intended to achieve sufficient support to advance the construction of the so-called “21st century socialism”. In a first analysis, it consists of the search for total power for the president. Thus, the electoral authoritarianism implanted in Venezuela as of the 2004 presidential recall referendum suffers its first setback, representing an almost insurmountable barrier to the realization of the presidential totalitarian project.eng
