| dc.description.abstract | El sÍndrome del túnel del carpo es una patologÍa frecuente, la cual se produce por compresión del nervio mediano. En la mayorÍa de los casos el diagnóstico es clÍnico; sin embargo, en los casos atÍpicoslas imágenes diagnósticas juegan un papel importante. Aunque la resonancia magnética se ha establecido como una técnica importante en el diagnóstico del túnel del carpo, la ecografÍa está ganando cada vezmás adeptos por su bajo costo y menor duración en la realización del examen, con criterios diagnósticos similares a los de la resonancia.[Quintero JM, Lubinus FG, Mantilla JC. | dc.description.abstractenglish | Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common pathology, which is caused by compression of the median nerve. In most cases the diagnosis is clinical; However, in atypical cases, diagnostic images play an important role. Although magnetic resonance imaging has been established as an important technique in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel, ultrasound is gaining more and more followers due to its low cost and shorter duration of the examination, with diagnostic criteria similar to those of MRI.[ Quintero JM, Lubinus FG, Mantilla JC.
